How to choose the right agency?
In today’s highly competitive, candidate-driven job market, finding the ideal candidate is pretty tough. Which is why companies are using recruitment agencies… To recruit the right people! BUT with over 40,000 recruitment agencies in the UK, how do you choose one?
Some questions you need to ask yourself before choosing an agency:
1 – The obvious; what’s the vacancy? Permanent, temporary, junior, executive.
2 – Which type of agency suits you – High street? Industry specialist? Executive search?
3 – Does the agency have a local presence? (Is that important to you?)
4 – How important is cost? Agencies tend to charge on a percentage basis. Look for an agency that has a flat percentage rate. However, it is important that you don’t make your decision purely a financial one.
5 – Does the agency operate with transparency? Agencies should provide job seekers with plenty of information throughout the screening process and provide the employer with genuine solutions.
6 – Does the agency meet the candidate before recommending them for a role? You would be surprised at how many do not.
7 – Does the agency find candidates that not only have the skills required but also match the company culture and business goals?
8 – Does the agency visit your company, take time to understand your values and meet the team? This is key to finding candidates that fit your company culture.
Try and find an agency that has company values similar to your own.
They will better understand your company culture and be passionate about finding the perfect candidate!
