The team at Morgan Parkes Recruitment have chosen two charities to support this year, and are planning to assist at various events to help both charities to achieve their fundraising goals…
Molly Ollys Wishes
Molly Olly’s Wishes was founded in 2011 by Rachel and Tim Ollerenshaw. Their daughter Molly Ollerenshaw was diagnosed aged 3 with a Wilms tumour and despite a long and brave 5 year fight, died in 2011.
They spent a large part of those years in and out of hospital and soon realised that many of the patients they met did not have the emotional or financial support that they had for Molly and her siblings. Molly wanted to help these children and so Molly Olly’s Wishes was born. Molly Olly’s Wishes supports children aged 0-18 with terminal or life threatening illnesses and their families to help with their emotional wellbeing.
Molly Olly’s Wishes have developed a therapeutic toy lion, Olly The Brave, and book, ‘Olly The Brave And The Wigglys’, to help children’s emotional well-being by explaining, in a simple child-friendly way, the start of their treatment journey. These are donated to hospitals and individuals around the U.K.
They also grant individual wishes to children. This may be in the form of equipment, to help a child with day to day living with their condition, it may be an alternative therapy treatment to compliment traditional medicine, or a special occasion for a child that would otherwise be isolated from everyday events due to the restrictions of their illness.
